Have you witnessed or experienced DISCRIMINATION BY THE POLICE in the Mount Pleasant area? We need your voice!

TELL YOUR STORY

Why we need your voice

In the wake of so many stories of police abuse and harassment coming to light across the United States, communities like ours are beginning to recognize the need for independent community oversight of the police.  The Mount Pleasant Area Diversity Group is working on a proposal to bring greater oversight to the conduct and procedures of local (county, city, campus, and Tribal) police agencies.

We would like to hear your story so that we can work to make our campus and community a safe, fair, and welcoming place for all of us.  We are collecting and sharing stories that you send to us to raise awareness about the diverse experiences people have in the Mount Pleasant area.  Here are some of the ways we may use the details of your story:

  • Posters
  • Performances (monologues, skits)
  • Videos (read by actors)
  • Reports

You may leave your details if you would welcome a follow-up from us (which can sometimes help make our advocacy more effective), or you can leave stories anonymously.
